Long-Lasting Relief from Painful Corns & Calluses

Are you tired of recurring foot pain caused by corns and calluses? At Mirfield Podiatry, we offer Curacorn®, an innovative treatment that provides long-term relief by addressing the root cause of these painful lesions.

What Is Curacorn®?

Curacorn® is an advanced treatment that uses hyaluronic acid (HA) gel injections to cushion areas of the foot prone to corns and calluses. This gel reduces pressure and friction under the skin, offering lasting relief and improved comfort.

How Does Curacorn® Work?

Corns and calluses form due to pressure between bones and skin.

Curacorn® works by:

  • Injecting HA Gel to cushion and protect the area

  • Reducing skin stress to stop hard skin forming

  • Improving comfort and relieving pain almost immediately

Who Can Benefit?

Curacorn® is ideal for those with:

  • Corns between or on top of toes

  • Pressure points on the soles of the feet

  • Lost foot padding (fat pad atrophy)

  • Foot pain from high-impact activities

  • Long-term conditions like diabetes or arthritis

Who Should Avoid It?

This treatment isn't suitable if you:

  • Are under 18

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have allergies to local anesthetic or HA gel

  • Had cortisone injections in the area in the last 6 weeks

  • Have infections, tumors, or skin issues at the site

The Curacorn® Treatment Process

1

Initial Consultation

  • Assessment: Comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, foot structure, and the affected area.

  • Preparation: Removal of existing calluses or corns to prepare the site for treatment.

2

First Treatment Session

  • Anesthesia: Administration of a local anesthetic to ensure comfort.

  • Injection: Precise placement of the HA gel beneath the skin using a fine cannula.

  • Aftercare: Application of padding to support the treated area.

Note: Patients are advised not to drive for 12 hours post-treatment due to the effects of the anaesthetic.

3

Follow-Up Sessions

  • Second Injection: Typically scheduled four weeks after the initial treatment to reinforce the cushioning effect.

  • Optional Third Session: If necessary, a third treatment may be administered within three months to achieve optimal results.

4

Post-Treatment Care

To ensure the success of the Curacorn® treatment:

  • Rest the area: Avoid pressure for 24 hours

  • No contact: Don’t massage or apply creams for 12 hours

  • Mild side effects: Redness or swelling may occur but should fade quickly

  • Take it easy: Skip heavy activity, saunas, or heat for 24 hours
